How do I create or modify teams?
If you are an organization or team admin, you will see an option for Settings in the dropdown menu under your name at the top right of the application. In Settings you can add, edit, and remove teams under the Teams tab.
What is the difference between an organization admin and a team admin?
An organization admin can:
- Add and remove organization members
- Edit the organization’s name
- Add, remove, or change the payment method for the organization
- View receipts for the organization’s payments
- Create, remove, or modify teams
- This includes the team members, custom call statuses, and team name
A team admin can:
- Modify their team, including:
- Team name
- Team members
- Call status names, acronyms, colors, and sort order
Can I be a member of multiple teams?
Yes - any user can be a member of multiple teams. There is no limit to how many teams you can be a member of.
How do I switch between teams?
At the top left of the application, next to the PhoneSlate logo, there’s a dropdown which indicates your current team. Click on that to switch teams.
How do I manage the users in my organization?
If you are an organization admin, go to Settings in the dropdown menu under your name at the top right of the application. In settings you can add, edit, and remove users under the Users tab.
How do I manage my payment information?
If you are an organization admin, go to Settings in the dropdown menu under your name at the top right of the application. In settings you can add, edit, and remove users under the Users tab. Note that changing the number of organization members will change the amount you are billed monthly.
How do I view the calls for multiple team members?
On the main calls screen, in the filters bar, the first filter on the left will list all members of the team you’re currently viewing.
Can I create and edit custom call statuses?
If you are a team admin, you can create, modify, and remove call statuses for each team of which you are a member. As part of customizing statuses, you can choose colors and order. The order you set will be reflected on the call sheet when it is sorted by status.
How do contacts work with teams?
Contacts belong to teams—only the members of a team can see that team’s contacts. Contacts for a team can be uploaded by any team member. Adding or removing a user from a team does not add or remove any contacts from that team.
I used an earlier version of PhoneSlate—how does the new call sheet differ?
It’s very similar to the old version of PhoneSlate, with a few differences. Calls are now part of a ‘conversation,’ much like email. When you toggle the status of a call, it automatically logs a new call and places the old call in the conversation history. At any point you can modify the subject, notes, and latest time and date of any conversation.
Can I share a call sheet externally?
Yes—at the top right of the application there’s a Share icon. Click that to share the call sheet in its current form (i.e. with current filters applied) via email or in a print-friendly format, with anyone you choose.
Why don’t I see Settings in the secondary menu?
Only organization and team admins see the Settings link. If you need to modify the settings for your team, contact your organization or team admin and ask them to either make you a team admin or make the change for you.
Can I import contacts?
Yes. Any team member can upload contacts to their team. On the Contacts page, click the gear icon and you’ll see a link to import contacts.
Importing contacts isn’t working
PhoneSlate imports contacts exported as a CSV file from Google Contacts or Outlook, or as a VCard file from Apple Contacts. To import your own CSV, make sure it's formatted like an Outlook CSV, with the same column headers. Contact us with any questions.
How do I add a new contact?
There are three ways. You can add a new contact while creating or modifying a conversation, as well as clicking the + button on the contacts page.
I’m not seeing my calls
This might be because you've filtered your calls. Check the CALL SHEET filter to make sure you’re viewing the right person’s calls. Check the CALL STATUS filter to make sure you’re viewing all statuses, or the statuses you’ve been using. Check the DATES filter to make sure it’s filtered to the dates of your calls.
Can I view the call sheets of multiple people at once?
Yes. Just select the call sheets you want to view under the CALL SHEET filter on the main call sheet screen. The calls for anyone you’ve selected will be inter-mingled, but labeled with the call owner.
How do I view a conversation’s history?
Click the MORE link at the bottom right of any conversation.
How do I leave a team?
You can leave a team in the Account page under your name at the top right of the application.
